Amy Luna Knox, MS, CNS, LDN

Hello! I'm Amy, a non-diet, weight-inclusive integrative nutritionist based in southern Illinois. I am deeply passionate about how nutrition and our relationship with food impact both mental and physical health. I love working one-on-one with individuals, helping them explore their unique nutrition needs and fostering a healthier, more positive relationship with food.

I hold a degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a master's in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. While living in Washington DC, I balanced my time between working with a seed-to-table program in DC public schools and an integrative healthcare practice in Bethesda, Maryland.

After relocating to the Midwest, I spent a full season as an organic farm apprentice, which deepened my appreciation for sustainable agriculture. I love to share my passion for growing organic food with friends, neighbors and clients. In addition to clinical work, I serve as the community garden manager at Empowered Spaces in St. Louis, Missouri, where we offer a collaborative food share program with Jamaa Birth Village.

I currently live just outside St. Louis, Missouri with my husband and 5 year old daughter. After starting a family here, the Midwest has become home to me.

Get to know my approach

I believe each client deserves a tailored approach that speaks to their unique needs.

Being well-nourished and emotionally satisfied by the food we eat can be really challenging amidst the myriad of opinions on what and how we should eat. As an integrative nutritionist, I focus on root cause approaches, delving deeper into the underlying factors that contribute to disease rather than merely managing or preventing it. By uncovering these root causes, I help you discover the eating style that aligns best with your body, enabling you to feel your best.

By weaving integrative nutrition with principles from Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size®, I guide clients in tuning into their internal appetite cues and achieving health from the inside out.

Philosophy

I believe that eating is a ritual of care.

Food is not just about fueling our bodies with energy and nutrients; it’s a vital way we connect with others. From family meals to dinners with friends, and sharing homemade favorites with those facing hard times, food brings us together. It allows us to celebrate and honor our backgrounds and those of others. As humans, we are naturally drawn to find joy in eating. That's why I believe good nutrition cannot be reduced to a list of dos and don’ts.
